I stumbled upon Chikku Baiju’s work when his black and white photo, Scary desert, was highlighted on EarthShots.org. This photo, plus the fact that Chikku is only nineteen years old, piqued my interest in his photography. I was surprised to find out that after working with digital for just the past two years, Chikku has already won a fair number of photography contests. These include
- 1st place, 2010 Arizona Highways Photography Contest
- Grand Prize winner, 2009 Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest (Teen)
- 1st place, 2009-2010 Capture the Wonder Photo Contest, Sedona
- 1st place, 2009 Cave Creek Film & Arts Festival (Youth)
So why do I classify this relative newcomer as an inspirational photographer? It’s because Chikku’s innate talent is already quite evident even though he has only a few years of photography behind him. In wonderful black and white or color images, he displays a knack for composition beyond his age.
