Inspirational Photographers: Dima Zverev

 

I fell in love with Dmitry (aka Dima) Zverev’s black and white work the first time I saw it, and that was when I highlighted the city-photos.org site here.  Dima, a member of the Union of Russian Photoartists, possesses natural talent in abundance, which is readily apparent when you peruse his extensive portfolio.  There you’ll find black and white, color, portraits, commercial, landscape, and infrared photography—a cornucopia of varied visual delights.

For example, Dima’s Subway Portraits work (shown above) is a fascinating study of subway riders.  Most of the portraits have such great expression that I had a lot of fun studying each one and wondering what the subway rider was thinking, at least the ones not asleep.

Of all Dima’s work, black and whites are my favorites. The velvety blacks and snowy whites make each image stand out.  Though personally biased towards black and white photography, I enjoy his color images as well.  A picture may be worth a thousand words, but Dima’s work requires considerably more words to describe adequately—he instills that much into each photo.
