pixlr: A Free Online Photo Editor That’s Not A Toy

Are you tired of all the online photo editors that are nothing more than toys?  Me too.  That’s why I’d recommend looking into Pixlr Photo Editing Service.  You’ll find two free photo editors available at this site, Pixlr Editor, a feature rich editor with all the bells and whistles; and Pixlr Express, for quick fixes or cool one-click effects.

Pixlr also provides a one-click image sharer (here), and an image capture utility, Pixlr Grabber, for Firefox and Chrome browsers.  The Chrome extension of Pixlr Grabber “…lets you capture the whole or parts of the browser content (Print screen), edit, share or save direct in the browser.”

I would love to move everything I do to the “Cloud.”  ZOHO (also free for personal use) provides me with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, etc., but I still need tools for my photographic work.  Pixlr shows some promise, providing most of what I need for post-processing.

Check it out yourself and tell me what you think.

Another useful feature is that it can be accessed from office networks that don't permit installation of software on desktops. I have found this to be very useful for people in those sort of situations where its either do it at home or try and use windows paint.
